Tickets Go On Sale for Princeton Festival's 2018 Season of Musical Comedy, Opera, Jazz, and Baroque Music

PRINCETON, N.J., March 12, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Ticket sales for the 14^th season of The Princeton Festival, which runs June 9 to July 1, start today on the Festival's website (www.princetonfestival.org), by phone at 609-258-2787, or in person.

The 2018 Festival offers 21 performances of eight events:

• Puccini's beautiful and gripping opera Madama Butterfly in three performances (June 16 and 24; July 1)
• 12 performances of Stephen Sondheim's hilarious Broadway classic A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum (June 10 to July 1)
• The Princeton debut of the acclaimed Peter and Will Anderson Jazz Quintet (June 23)
• An evening of music from the distinguished Concordia Chamber Players (June 9)
• The period-instrument Princeton Festival Baroque Orchestra in chamber (June 23) and full orchestra (June 27) concerts
• Baroque choral music by G.F. Handel and J.S. Bach, accompanied by the Baroque Orchestra (June 30)
• The exciting final round of the Festival's piano competition (June 17)

There are also 15 different free education and community engagement programs such as lectures, workshops, and previews, many offered on multiple days in different locations.

"Butterfly is a poignant drama set in Japan with glowing music that has captivated audiences around the world. The Broadway megahit Forum's non-stop zaniness brings ancient Rome to life with great tunes, witty lyrics, and laugh-out-loud comedy.

The Festival's lectures cover such topics as cross-cultural challenges in opera, musical comedy in ancient Rome, and what's Baroque about Baroque music.
