TideSmart Global CEO Steve Woods Wins eco-Excellence Award from ecomaine

FALMOUTH, Maine, May 14, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Steve Woods, President and CEO of TideSmart Global, a collective of six companies primarily focused on experiential marketing, was recently presented with the Business eco-Excellence Award from ecomaine.  The awards are presented annually for contributions towards preserving local ecology by ecomaine, a municipally owned nonprofit recycling and waste-to-energy company.  For this achievement, Woods was recognized with a resolution from the Falmouth Town Council on Monday night.

As President and CEO of TideSmart Global, Woods recently built an eco business campus in Falmouth, featuring a variety of green infrastructure.  The 6-acre campus features 350 square feet of solar panels, which power nearly half of the campus.  Other green and LEED elements include radiant heating, motion-sensitive lighting systems, water reclamation systems, zero-sort recycling and an electric car charging station. 

Woods, who serves as the Chairman of the Yarmouth Town Council and is an announced Maine gubernatorial candidate, also recently announced plans to install a green roof atop TideSmart's 10,000 square foot logistics center.  The significant investment in green infrastructure and technology represents a long-term community and environmental vision, Woods said.
