SUNNYVALE, Calif., April 26, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- TiE Silicon Valley, a not for profit organization dedicated to fostering entrepreneurship in the Bay Area and globally, today announced that its board members have created the new, high profile "Lifetime Achievement Award" to recognize individuals who embody outstanding contribution, global impact and transformational leadership. The inaugural award will be conferred at TiE Silicon Valley's annual banquet at the conclusion of TiEcon 2016, scheduled for May 7, 2016, at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, CA.
After careful consideration, the TiE Silicon Valley board of directors has named Dr. Paul E. Jacobs, former CEO and current Executive Chairman of Qualcomm Incorporated, as the 2016 award recipient. "On behalf of 13,000 members of TiE spread across 18 countries, we are proud to confer the inaugural 'Lifetime Achievement Award' on Dr. Paul E. "I am truly honored to be the inaugural recipient of this Lifetime Achievement Award from TiE," said Dr. Jacobs. "For the past 30 years, I have been fortunate to collaborate with many passionate innovators at Qualcomm and throughout the mobile industry.
