Time Warner Cable Expands HD Lineup Bringing 134 HD Channels to Dallas Area

DALLAS, Dec. 15, 2011  /PRNewswire/ -- Time Warner Cable recently launched 20 new high definition channels in the Dallas area enhancing the addition of new services introduced within the last 6 months.  The HD channel additions, which include favorite news, sports, and entertainment programming, will bring a total of 134 HD channels to Time Warner Cable customers in the Dallas area.  Digital customers with an HD set top box and the required level of service* will now be able to access top cable network channels in HD such as E! HD, Oxygen HD, OWN HD, Showtime movie channels, FOX Deportes HD, IFC HD, Bloomberg Television HD and more.

Internet service has also seen advancements and now all Dallas area customers have the opportunity to experience the super fast speeds of Wideband Internet.  Time Warner Cable Wideband Internet features speeds of up to 50 megabits per second (Mbps) downstream and 5 Mbps upstream.  Within the last 6 months Time Warner Cable has also increased the speeds for Road Runner Standard customers taking them from 10 Mbps x 1 Mbps from the previous speeds of 7Mbps x 512Kbps.

New products and speed enhancements are also part of the SignatureHome™ suite of services which was made available in the area this year as well.  Along with the company's most robust digital cable package, fastest Internet service and digital phone product, SignatureHome™ caters to a growing residential market segment that places a premium on personalized services, installation and care.  SignatureHome™ customers are assigned a specially trained team of SignatureService agents, including both Personal Solutions Advisors (PSA) and Connections Specialists.

Through SignatureHome™, customers receive a Whole House DVR with the ability to record a show in one room and watch it in up to four rooms at the same time.  Whole House DVR also lets customers record up to two shows at once and stores up to 75 hours of HD programming.  SignatureHome™ customers now have access to the revolutionary services Start Over and Look Back.  Start Over is an exclusive service of Time Warner Cable that allows digital cable viewers to start over at the beginning of a show they tune into already in progress. Viewers can start over a show anytime within its programming viewing window, even if they didn't set their DVR to record it and programs can be restarted multiple times within the TV show's live timeframe.  If a customer changes the channel, they can resume watching the first show where they left off as long as the show is still within its scheduled broadcast timeframe.  Look Back allows customers to go back three days to watch their favorite primetime shows.  More than 90 channels are Start Over enabled and more than 40 channels are Look Back enabled in the Dallas area.
