Times Set for Chukchansi Gold Resort & Casino Employees to Pick Up Belongings

COARSEGOLD, Calif., Oct. 20, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The Chukchansi Gold Resort & Casino (CGRC) today announced that laid off employees can pick up their personal belongings from their lockers over the following dates and times:

• Wednesday, October 22^nd, 9 AM to 2 PM
• Thursday, October 23^rd, 9 AM to 2 PM
• Friday, October 24^th, 9 AM to 11 AM
• Monday, October 27^th, through Friday, October 31^st, 9 AM to 11 AM.

Employees must call dispatch at (559) 692-5292 to schedule a date and time due to minimal resort staffing. Team Members are encouraged to bring their Tribal gaming license to the employee entrance in order to retrieve their belongings. Employees can also use this as an opportunity to return any company property they may have in their possession.

Late last week, the CGRC sent a letter to its employees regarding the Resort's closure by NIGC (Federal) and State authorities. The letter noted that despite the closure on the 10^th, employees would receive an extra week of pay, through October 16^th.  

"We wish we could do more for our team members," said Giffen Tan, General Manager of the Chukchansi Gold Resort & Casino. "However NIGC (Federal) and State orders prevent us from opening any of our casino and resort operations until we come up with a solution to the issues which led to the Casino's closure. Our team members are the lifeblood of this resort and of this community. No one wants to get back up and running more than we do."

Tan also reassured guests that the Casino will honor all of its commitments when it re-opens. Any guests who have deposits for rooms or facilities during the closure will be reimbursed and all vouchers and gaming chips will be honored.
