Tom Harmon Joins Amherst Securities Group as Managing Director
AUSTIN, Texas, July 18, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Amherst Securities Group, LP, a leading financial services provider to institutional investors in the mortgage sector, announced today that Tom Harmon has joined the company as a Managing Director in fixed income trading and sales. Mr. Harmon will be based in Amherst's New York office and focus on supporting the firm's growth in Agency pass-through securities.
Mr. Harmon joins Amherst from Cantor Fitzgerald, where he was a Managing Director in Debt Capital Markets focused on single and multifamily mortgage products, since 2008. Prior to that, Mr. Harmon worked on the Merrill Lynch pass-through trading desk, and Fannie Mae on their portfolio team.

Mr. Harmon graduated from the University of Maryland with a degree in Economics, and received his M.S. from Johns Hopkins University.
