Top Bechtel Executive is Keynote at 21st Breakbulk Americas Transportation Conference & Exhibition
NEWARK, N.J., Aug. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- The Journal of Commerce Breakbulk division announced today that David Hammerle, Bechtel Corp.'s corporate manager of procurement and contracts and principal vice president, will deliver the keynote address at the 21st annual Breakbulk Americas Transportation Conference and Exhibition, to be held Oct. 12-14, 2010 at Houston's George R. Brown Convention Center.
After the long global recession, there are indications that the breakbulk, heavy-lift and project cargo sectors are gathering steam as new contracts are awarded for infrastructure developments worldwide. Breakbulk Americas -- the single largest gathering of top executives in these industries -- will bring together more than 3,000 industry leaders for two days of roundtable discussion and keynote addresses, providing insight on trends and challenges of today's volatile market, emerging trade lanes and the future of production in various energy sectors and other commodities markets.
David Hammerle's procurement experience extends through 20 years within Bechtel's markets, and he is currently responsible for corporate oversight of the international construction contractor's global business supply chain departments. Reflecting on the positive indications of growth in the capital project business, he will present important information on where the engineering, construction and procurement business is headed for the rest of the year and beyond and discuss which sectors show the most promise and locations hold the most opportunity.
