TOP Energy Training, a University Educational Consortium Supported by Disco Learning Media, Recognized by the Interstate Oil and Gas Compact Commission

AUSTIN, Texas, Nov. 2, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Disco Learning Media, a learning experience company and digital publisher with a focus on education, and TOP Energy Training, a consortium of The University of Texas at Austin, The Pennsylvania State University, and Colorado School of Mines, announce that the TOPCORP oil and gas inspector training program received the Chairman's Stewardship Award for Energy Education, Honorable Mention, from the Interstate Oil and Gas Compact Commission. The award-winning program combines classroom instruction and field experiences with an online training course, which Disco's team of storytelling and instructional design experts helped launch and currently manage and maintain the project with the consortium.

TOPCORP was recognized by the Interstate Oil and Gas Compact Commission for closing the knowledge gap in the oil and gas industry by providing practical training for numerous oil and gas inspectors and regulators through the program's energy-related courses.

The Interstate Oil and Gas Compact Commission recognizes that this training is a critical step to stewarding and protecting the environment, while efficiently producing energy resources," said Dr. Hilary Olson, department lecturer and research center Director of Education, Training and Outreach for Petroleum and Geosystems Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Olson is the project lead for the TOPCORP project at UT Austin.
