INGOLSTADT, Aug. 2, 2013 /CNW/ - Audi has achieved its best-ever rankings in the latest J.D. Power APEAL survey. At second place in customer satisfaction among all brands, the company based in Ingolstadt, Germany outshone its direct competitors. The Audi A4 allroad quattro and Audi Q5 models earned a 1-2 victory in their class.

The 2013 edition of the Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout (APEAL) customer satisfaction survey marks the 18th time it has been conducted by renowned U.S. market-research agency J.D. Power. More specifically, J.D. Power surveyed 83,000 American car buyers about the first 90 days with their 2013 model-year vehicles.

With 857 out of a possible 1,000 points, Audi scored 62 points higher than the industry average and advanced two places to second place overall among 33 manufacturers. In addition to the 1-2 victory among compact premium SUVs, many other Audi vehicles likewise triumphed. The A4/A5, A6, A8 and Q7 each captured second place in their respective categories.

In 2012, the Audi Group delivered 1,455,123 cars of the Audi brand to its customers, generated revenue of €48.8 billion and achieved an operating profit of €5.4 billion. The Audi Group is globally present in more than 100 markets and produces vehicles in Ingolstadt and Neckarsulm (Germany), Győr (Hungary), Brussels (Belgium), Bratislava (Slovakia), Martorell (Spain), Kaluga (Russia), Aurangabad (India), Changchun (China) and Jakarta (Indonesia). The brand with four rings will produce cars also in Foshan (China) as of late 2013 and in San José Chiapa (Mexico) starting in 2016. AUDI AG's wholly owned subsidiaries include quattro GmbH (Neckarsulm), Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A. (Sant'Agata Bolognese, Italy) and the sports motorcycle manufacturer Ducati Motor Holding S.p.A. (Bologna, Italy). The Group currently employs more than 70,000 people worldwide, including around 50,000 in Germany. Total investment of approximately €11 billion is planned by 2015 - mainly in new products and sustainable technologies.
