Torrid Launches National Model Search to discover the Face of Torrid 2016

LOS ANGELES, June 10, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Torrid, the hottest name and fastest growing brand in plus-size fashion, has been grabbing headlines all year.  First, for making size-22 model Tess Holliday the star of its spring look book and most recently, for its upcoming fashion collaboration with actress Rebel Wilson.  Today they announced more exciting news: the launch of MyTorrid Model Search, a national quest to discover the Face of Torrid 2016.

Casting kicked off today at Torrid.com/modelsearch and will be followed this summer with live casting events in 5 major Torrid markets: Minneapolis, Chicago, Dallas, Philadelphia and Los Angeles.

"Every day our girls ask how they can become a Torrid model. Now each one has the opportunity," explains Lisa Harper, Torrid CEO. "We want to turn the camera on her to tell us her story, and why she would love to be a Torrid model. It's our way of celebrating and showcasing our fan base. We're very excited about launching this search to find the Face of Torrid 2016."

The winner will join the ranks of Torrid models Georgina Burke and Philomena Kwao, whose lives were transformed by becoming Torrid brand ambassadors.

Four finalists will be flown to Torrid's Los Angeles headquarters for the last round of competition. It's here that one lucky winner will receive the title "Face of Torrid 2016." The winner will be announced in January 2016.

The winner will receive the title, "Face of Torrid 2016", a Torrid modeling contract, and a Torrid wardrobe. The winner will make appearances at Torrid stores and events as their brand ambassador and could appear in Torrid catalogs, on Torrid.com and the brand's social media.
