Toshiba's UCedge Wins 2016 UC Product of the Year Award

Toshiba's UCedge is a single application that empowers users to communicate on Windows® and Mac® laptops and desktop computers and Apple® and Android™ smartphones and tablets across Toshiba's cloud and on-site business telephone solutions, including hybrid cloud and on-site networked solutions. UCedge works on Toshiba's VIPedge^® and IPedge^® business phone solutions as well as Strata® CIX systems with an IPedge Application Server. 

New UCedge enhancements include visibility, collaboration and federation with Skype® for Business, Lync® and other external XMPP-compatible UC clients.  With UCedge client software that is easily downloaded from the Internet, users gain new levels of convenience, productivity and cost savings no matter how they access their Toshiba business communication solutions.

UCedge support for the XMPP protocol enables users connected to disparate servers — deployed on-site or in the cloud — to whitelist each other to share contacts, view presence status information, exchange instant messages, and call users via one-touch. This includes external organizations using Toshiba software as well as Microsoft® Skype for Business clients (via XMPP gateway) as well as other third-party systems that comply with XMPP standards.

UCedge's XMPP federation further enhances communications to ensure that users will be able to collaborate with colleagues and customers quickly and efficiently in real-time using Contacts with Avatars, Presence and Instant Messaging (IM).

New Free 60-Day UCedge Licenses and License Transferability

Toshiba is offering limited free 60-day trial licenses of UCedge.  Current UCedge users can transfer existing licenses between sites, which deliver added flexibility and cost savings, particularly for contact centers. Licenses for the UCedge client are provided as part of the VIPedge solution and are available as an option for the IPedge or Strata CIX systems.
