Total Revenue from Coaching Reaching Almost $2 Billion

LEXINGTON, Ky., Feb. 8, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Professional coaching is a multi-billion-dollar industry, according to new global research produced by the International Coach Federation. The 2012 ICF Global Coaching Study found that the estimated global revenue from coaching to be almost $2 billion ($1,979 million USD) annually. The worldwide income statistic is derived from the aggregate total of what individual coaches reported earning only from coaching.

The 2012 ICF Global Coaching Study also shows that the worldwide annual revenue of the profession is expected to rise in the future. According to results, the coaching profession is rapidly expanding worldwide with areas of increasing maturity and growth potential, particularly in Latin America and the Caribbean.

In addition, coaches reported that they expect to see continued increases in the number of clients they service, the number of coaching sessions they participate in, and more than 3 in 4 (76 percent) expected their annual revenues to increase over the next 12 months.

The 2012 ICF Global Coaching Study was conducted independently by the International Survey Unit of PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC). Available in nine languages, responses were received from over 12,000 people in 117 countries.
