Toyota of Naperville to start charity drive for Autism foundation

NAPERVILLE, Ill., March 28, 2013 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- A recent government study has stated that as many as 1 in 88 children are affected by Autism. That number grows to 1 in 50 depending on how the child is assessed and diagnosed. Autism is a developmental disability that affects the way a child conducts social interactions with family, friends and teachers as well as communication abilities and cognitive functions. As a result children with Autism need a highly specialized education curriculum in an adaptive environment that is suited to their individual needs. Often times these families and their children with Autism are put in a very difficult predicament and are left feeling isolated.

Programs for these kids with specialized needs are often expensive and hard to come by. That is where the Turning Pointe Autism Foundation comes into play. Formed in 2005, Turning Pointe Autism Foundation was started to get children with Autism in the Naperville, IL area a chance to go to school in their own community without having to cover too much ground. Since then Turning Pointe has grown into a Day School with specialized programs for its students and a Career College that readies it graduates to find gainful employment after graduation.
