Trailblazer for Female Advancement To Be Honored at Upcoming Leadership Events
NEW YORK, Oct. 4, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Jean Otte, will be honored this fall at Leadership Legacy events throughout the country. Celebrating Connections: Changing Our World, sponsored by WOMEN Unlimited Inc., will be held in Boston, San Francisco, New York, Chicago and Orlando. Ms. Otte passed away in May.
Throughout her career, Ms. Otte was a vocal advocate for the advancement of female talent. She formalized her efforts in 1994, with the founding of WOMEN Unlimited, pre-dating the current focus on gender parity. She worked with Fortune 1000 companies, emphasizing the benefits of inclusion, not just for women but also for corporate profitability.
As a result, she became a well-known trailblazer among men and women in leading organizations across the country. "She wanted women to learn how to get the boys to pass them the ball," said Jack Yurish, long-time friend, mentor and former executive at National Car Rental Systems, Inc.
To date, WOMEN Unlimited, using Ms. Otte's approach for developing female talent, has worked with over 12,500 women to build mentoring and networking relationships that advance their careers and achieve or exceed their organizations' short and long-term goals.
