LONDON, Jan. 26, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Sedulo Group, a global competitive intelligence firm, officially announced the opening of its new London office.
Though Sedulo Group has been doing business in Europe since 2006, the new UK office will serve as the company's European Headquarters, providing improved project management oversight and a single point of contact for European clients.
"We have been providing competitive intelligence services to European clients for years, however the new London office will enable us to expand our research capabilities," says Heath Gross, Sedulo's founder and Managing Partner. Sedulo's European analysts were previously managed by US-based project managers. As of January 2011, all European operations will be run out of the London headquarters.
Gross believes that the new structure will also benefit Sedulo's US-based clients. "Most of our US clients want to keep an eye on European markets and competitors; our new operational structure is going to improve our ability to support research projects throughout Europe," says Gross.
In addition to improving research and project management capabilities, Gross suggests that the London office is expected to play a key role in Sedulo's European business development efforts. Says Gross, "Compared to the United States, only a small percentage of European companies are utilizing competitive intelligence in their day-to-day business decisions. Our goal is to leverage our London office to provide competitive intelligence education and thought leadership. Once business leaders understand the benefits of competitive intelligence, driving new business is easy."
Brian Barney, a UK native, will lead the London office as the Director of European Research. Barney will be responsible for recruiting additional staff, expanding Sedulo's European source network, and serving as the point of contact for European clients and business development.
Barney, a medical device engineer, brings over 25 years of experience in a variety of industries including global pharmaceuticals, healthcare and manufacturing.
"I chose Brian as the European Director because of his broad industry background, executive level experience in pharma and his strong background in consulting," says Gross. "He understands how to manage projects and people as well as how to develop new business."
