Transwestern Named A Best Company To Work For In Texas By Texas Monthly Magazine For Seventh Year

HOUSTON, March 21, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Transwestern's Houston headquarters today announced it has been named as one of the 2013 "Best Companies to Work for in Texas." This marks the seventh consecutive year that the commercial real estate services firm has been recognized. The awards program is a project of Texas Monthly magazine, the Texas Association of Business (TAB), the Texas State Council of the Society for Human Resource Management (TSC-SHRM) and Best Companies Group. Transwestern ranked 11th out of the 33 recipients in its category of large employers.

The statewide survey and awards program was designed to identify, recognize and honor the 100 best places of employment in Texas, benefiting the state's economy, workforce and businesses. Recipients are divided in three size categories: small employer, with 15 to 99 employees; medium employer, with 100 to 499 employees; and large employer, with 500 or more employees.

Companies are first evaluated on workplace policies, systems, philosophies, practices and demographics. The second part of the survey process, worth approximately 75 percent of the total evaluation, is an employee survey to measure employee experience. The combined scores determined the top companies and final rankings.

Transwestern was recognized at a gala on March 19 in Austin, Texas and will be listed in the April 2013 issue of Texas Monthly, which will be delivered to subscribers and on the newsstand in late March.
