Travel Advantage Network Works Toward CancerFree KIDS

Employees raise funds for Pediatric Cancer Research Alliance

MILLERSVILLE, Md., Oct. 8, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Travel Advantage Network, a vacation accommodations program, dedicated its charitable fundraising efforts for the month of September to CancerFree KIDS, a non-profit Pediatric Cancer Research Alliance. CancerFree KIDS is dedicated to eradicate cancer as a life-threatening disease in children by funding promising research that might otherwise go unfunded.

Each month, a Travel Advantage Network employee or department selects a charity for the company to support and plans company activities and events to help raise funds for that cause. The Travel Advantage Network corporate marketing department chose to support CancerFree Kids for the month of September.

"As a group, we felt passionate about raising funds for pediatric cancer research organization. Our contributions are greatly needed, and we're happy to help in any way we can," said Kelly Brinegar, assistant brand manager.

To raise funds, the marketing department put together a variety of carnival-themed events which included: a breakfast sale, Bingo games, pizza day, a carnival day, a 50/50 drawing, pay- to-wear jeans days, silent auction and much more. In total, more than $1,340 was raised by employees to help CancerFreeKIDS find a cure. As added support, Travel Advantage Network also donated a week-long vacation to the organization to be used for a future fundraising effort.

Travel Advantage Network has been dedicated to charitable giving since its inception. In 2012, the company raised more than $15,000 for various local and national charities.
