Tri-State Residents Overwhelmingly Positive Reaction to Janus Storm Cleanup
47% of the Tri-State is happy to see a North East Super Bowl despite the cold
NEW YORK, Jan. 29, 2014 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- According to the latest survey of Tristate residents by research company, YouGov, residents were overwhelmingly positive about the cleanup operations after Winter Storm Janus:

- 39% of adults in the Tri-State region stated that they thought their area had coped very well with the cleanup
- 40% thought that they had coped somewhat well.
- Only 7% thought the cleanup was handled poorly.
There was a variation in response depending on age and other key demographics and a some variations depending on state.
45% of responders in Connecticut thought their area had coped very well compared to 39% in New York.
Older people, who may have weathered more violent storms with less efficient clean up operations in the past, are generally happier with cleanup efforts than Millennials. 91% of Tri-State residents aged 65+ found local cleanup had been somewhat or very well organized compared to only 66% of 18-29 year olds.
- 91% of Tri-State over 65s thought the cleanup very or somewhat well organized.
- 84% of 45-54 year olds thought the cleanup very or somewhat well organized.
- 13% of 18-29 year olds found it very or somewhat poorly organized, and only 66% found it well organized.
The storm has impacted attitudes to a cold weather Super Bowl
With the NJ Super Bowl approaching fast and worry about unmanageable conditions impacting ticket prices, we asked Tri-State area responders if they agreed with the North East hosting the Super Bowl:
- 47% agreed with holding the Super Bowl in the NE and only 12% disagreed.
- 57% thought it did not matter that the Super Bowl was potentially going to be held in cold weather.
- 14% preferred to see the Super Bowl played in the cold.

Note on Methodology
Total sample size was 775 adults. Fieldwork was undertaken between 17th – 23rd January 2014. The survey was carried out online. The figures have been weighted and are representative of the populations of those living within the New York City marketing area (a marketing category which includes people from New York City and parts of Connecticut, New Jersey and New York state). (aged 18+).
