Triathletes Gather At Zuma Beach For The 30th Annual Nautica Malibu Triathlon Presented By Equinox

MALIBU, Calif., Sept. 13, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The Nautica Malibu Triathlon presented by Equinox, one of the nation's biggest triathlons, hosts its 30^th annual race on September 18, 2016 at Zuma Beach in Malibu, California. Thousands of triathletes as well as celebrities and philanthropists will face off in a half-mile ocean swim, 18-mile bike ride and 4-mile run beginning at 7 a.m. to support the Children's Hospital Los Angeles' Pediatric Cancer Research Program, a program committed to finding a cure and preventative solutions to childhood cancers.

The funds raised from the Nautica Malibu Triathlon presented by Equinox help support the Basic and Translational Cancer Research Program of the Children's Center for Cancer and Blood Diseases at Children's Hospital Los Angeles. Last year, the triathlon raised over $1.31 million in support of the cancer research program, with notable celebrity participants like Chace Crawford, Jon Cryer, Jack Falahee and Michael Weatherly competing.

The Nautica Malibu Triathlon presented by Equinox will be comprised of two races including the Herbalife International Distance Race on Saturday, September 17^th, which features a 1.5K Pacific Ocean swim, a 40K bike course along the Pacific Coast Highway and a 10K run course along Zuma Beach. The Classic Distance, hosted the day after the Herbalife International Distance Race on Sunday, September 18^th, will feature a half-mile ocean swim, 18-mile bike course and 4-mile run.
