Triathletes Head To Zuma Beach For The 32nd Annual Nautica Malibu Triathlon Presented By Bank of America Merrill Lynch

MALIBU, Calif., Sept. 13, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- The Nautica Malibu Triathlon presented by Bank of America Merrill Lynch, one of the nation's largest triathlons, is hosting its 32^nd annual race on September 16^th, 2018 at the sunny shores of Zuma Beach in Malibu, California. Thousands of triathletes, including celebrities and philanthropists, will gather to compete in the half-mile ocean swim, the 17-mile bike course, and a 4-mile run course to benefit the Pediatric Cancer Research Program at the Children's Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA), which focuses on discovering cures and preventative solutions for childhood cancers.

In total, the Nautica Malibu Triathlon has raised over $16 million since its inception, and in the last ten years raised over $12 million to support pediatric research at Children's Hospital Los Angeles, which is home to The Saban Research Institute. The Nautica Malibu Triathlon brings together studios, entertainment industry corporations, professional triathletes, CHLA supporters and celebrities such as Zac Efron, James Marsden, Luke Hemsworth, Karla Souza, Beverley Mitchell, and Joel McHale for this worthy cause.

Nautica Malibu Triathlon presented by Bank of America Merrill Lynch is comprised of two races, including the Olympic Distance race on Saturday, September 15, which features a 1.5K Pacific Ocean swim, a 40K bike course along the Pacific Coast Highway and a 10K run course along Zuma Beach. The Classic Distance, hosted the day after the Olympic Distance race on Sunday, September 16, will feature a half-mile ocean swim, 17-mile bike course and 4-mile run. Fans and loved ones are encouraged to join in on the fun by enjoying games in the Fun Zone and watching young competitors take on the Nautica Kids Run and Tot Trot.
