Tribune Media and ATTN: Announce Strategic Partnership and Investment

CHICAGO, Nov. 16, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Tribune Media Company (NYSE: TRCO) and ATTN: today announced a strategic partnership that significantly expands Tribune's reach with audiences who rely primarily on content viewed on social and mobile platforms to stay informed. Tribune also announced an investment in ATTN:, the issue-driven media company reaching millions of people every day with original content specifically programmed for social platforms. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Under terms of the agreement, Tribune becomes ATTN:'s local media strategic partner, providing ATTN: access to its rich library of video assets for use in the development of original content. As part of the new relationship, Tribune will distribute and monetize ATTN: video content across its television and digital properties. In addition, both companies will develop and co-produce content to reach audiences across multiple platforms.

The agreement also enables Tribune to continue diversifying its content mix for the 65 million monthly unique visitors visiting its websites and apps.

Content developed and produced by ATTN: receives more than 2 billion impressions, generates more than 400 million monthly video views and commands roughly three million average views per video in the first 30 days, the highest average in the media industry, according to Tubular Labs.
