Tribune Media Announces Vince Giannini Expands Role to SVP/GM WPHL Philadelphia and WDCW Washington DC
PHILADELPHIA, Dec. 16, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Tribune Broadcasting today announced Vince Giannini will expand his role within the company. Effective immediately, Giannini who was VP/GM of PHL17 in Philadelphia will be elevated to SVP/GM and will add oversight of DCW50, Tribune Media's CW affiliate in Washington DC to his responsibilities.
In his new role, Giannini will continue to oversee all aspects of WPHL, a position he has held since 2003, and formally add oversight of WDCW, where he had been acting GM since August.
Giannini has spent most of his career with Tribune. Prior to his position at PHL, Giannini served as station manager at Tribune's New York station, PIX11 from August 2001 to November 2003. His responsibilities included finance, engineering, community affairs and local production. Giannini also worked at Tribune's Los Angeles station, KTLA where he was director/finance and administration from 1993 to 2001. Prior to that, he was senior financial analyst for WGN-TV, Chicago, from 1990 to 1993.

A native of Chicago, Giannini holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Illinois and is a Certified Public Accountant. He serves as a director on the boards of the Philadelphia Chapter of PAL (Police Athletic League), FACE (Foundation for Adolescent Credit Education), FARA (Friedreich's Ataxia Research Alliance, a national organization), the Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasters and the Philadelphia Ad Club. He also is a committee member for the Boy Scouts, Cradle of Liberty Council and the 2008 Good Scout Award Winner for the Communication Industry.
