Trilogy Health Solutions partners with Milwaukee-based Startup Access HealthNet to Reform Workers' Compensation
MILWAUKEE, March 27, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Wisconsin-based Trilogy Health Solutions (Trilogy) announced a collaboration with local tech startup Access HealthNet (AHN) on a disruptive workers' compensation program called WC Bundled Payments, aiming to provide a solution to skyrocketing workers' compensation medical costs for self-funded employers and carriers.
Trilogy's expertise in healthcare cost containment solutions and an iteration on AHN's healthcare e-commerce platform come together to form WC Bundled Payments, a program that allows self-funded employers and workers' compensation insurance companies to access fixed-rate, transparent episodes of care to treat injured workers.
Businesses across the state of Wisconsin called on the legislature in December of 2017 in an open letter to implement a medical fee schedule to alleviate the financial pressure of skyrocketing workers' compensation healthcare costs.
According to the Workers Compensation Research lnstitute (WCRI), Wisconsin's medical costs are 46 percent higher than the national median and 61 percent higher from injuries that require more than one week off work.
