Tuknik Government Services LLC awarded Contract to provide Program Management Office (PMO) services for the Office of the Special Trustee for American Indians at the Department of Interior

CHANTILLY, Va., July 26, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Tuknik Government Services, LLC (TGS), subsidiary of Koniag Inc.'s Government Services Sector and an SBA 8(a) certified small business and Indian Economic Enterprise, has been awarded a 3 year contract to support the Department of Interior Office of the Special Trustee for American Indians. 

TGS will provide Program Management Office(PMO) services in support of the transition to a new trust funds accounting system (TFAS) which is used by approximately 1100 DOI employees and 500,000 trust beneficiaries in Albuquerque, NM.

The current TFAS system includes investment portfolio data management, cash management, and trust accounting services.  It is critical that the transition be as seamless as possible to ensure the Trust Fund payments are distributed on time.

The U.S. Department of the Interior (DOI) Office of the Special Trustee (OST) for American Indians was created to improve the accountability and management of Indian funds held in trust by the Federal Government.  As trustee, DOI has the primary fiduciary responsibility to manage both Tribal trust funds and Individual Indian Monies (IIM) accounts.
