WASHINGTON, June 22, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Turkish Heritage Organization (THO) announced today the expansion of its Advisory Board to include notable experts on the U.S.-Turkey relationship and international relations. Regional experts Bill Park of King's College London and Malik Mufti of Tufts University, along with global economist Parag Khanna, will aid the THO in better fostering an understanding of the complex security, trade, energy and humanitarian issues impacting the region.
Bill Park, Senior Lecturer in the Defence Studies Department at King's College London, studies Turkey's regional strategy and Turkey-U.S. relations. He has testified on Turkish issues to various government agencies in the United Kingdom, including the British Parliament. Park's expertise of Turkey's position in the region and Turkish foreign policy will further strengthen the THO's security analysis.
Malik Mufti, Professor of Political Science at Tufts University, specializes in both international relations and the domestic politics of Turkey with a focus on Islamic political thought. He has written and taught extensively on Middle Eastern politics, including those of Syria, Iraq and Turkey and will bring valued regional perspective to the THO.
Park and Mufti are joined by Parag Khanna, Senior Fellow at the New America Foundation and Senior Fellow and Adjunct Professor at Singapore Institute of International Affairs. Khanna, a noted global economist, is a former foreign policy advisor to President Barack Obama and has held positions at the Brookings Institution, World Economic Forum and Council on Foreign Relations. His vast knowledge of the global economic situation will supplement THO's analysis of the issues impacting U.S.-Turkey relations.
"We are delighted to welcome Bill, Malik and Parag to our Advisory Board," said Halil Danismaz, President of the THO. "Their vast knowledge of Turkish domestic politics, foreign policy and the global economy will enrich our understanding of the possibilities and challenges within this bilateral relationship. We look forward to their insights and expertise as we navigate the future of U.S.-Turkey relations."
