
TV AZTECA FILES CHAPTER 15 PROCEEDING IN THE U.S. TO CONSOLIDATE AND ORGANIZE ITS REORGANIZATION PROCESS IN MEXICO

MEXICO CITY, Sept. 16, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- TV Azteca, one of the two largest producers of Spanish-language television content in the world, announced today that it filed a petition under Chapter 15 of U.S. law before a court in the Southern District of New York, seeking formal recognition in the United States of its Mexican concurso mercantil and, through this action, consolidate and organize the company's reorganization process in Mexico.
The proceeding seeks to enable creditors with interests in the United States to participate and assert their rights within the Mexican concurso mercantil, protect TV Azteca's assets in the United States, and help ensure that the company's obligations are addressed in an orderly manner under clear rules applicable to all parties.
This step reaffirms TV Azteca's commitment to an orderly and transparent reorganization aimed at preserving the continuity of its operations and strengthening its long-term financial position. With this action, the company moves forward with greater certainty toward the next stages of the process.
