"We are raising awareness and funds for those children who don't survive beyond age five around the world, and those who don't have the opportunity to learn here in the U.S," said Ettore Rossetti, a teaching professional at Weston Racquet Club who is also Save the Children's director of Social Media and Digital Marketing.
The brothers had previously held the Guinness World Record of 25,944 consecutive strokes for nearly five years after setting it on August 9, 2008. The feat took 14 hours and 31 minutes. In 2013, their Guinness Worlds Records title was broken by a team in Germany. This year, the Rossetti brothers' aim is to rally for 100,000 strokes or 24 hours, whichever comes first.
The twins are both certified tennis teaching professionals through the United States Tennis Association (USTA) and the Professional Tennis Registry (PTR).

The rally will be both a spectator and participatory event. Fans can watch the Rossettis rally and also participate in tennis activities hosted by USTA and USPTA (United States Professional Tennis Association), including Tennis Across America, Cardio Tennis and Lessons for Life and USTA Junior Team Tennis. There will be USTA and Guinness World Records officials on hand to certify and verify the event, which is free and open to the public. It is scheduled to begin on Saturday, Aug. 8 at 7 a.m., and conclude on Sunday, Aug. 9 at 7 a.m.
"This event gives us the opportunity to combine our two passions – tennis and philanthropy – and to give back. Our goal is to inspire kids and adults to 'Get a Dream, Goal Set, Goal Get and Give Back,' our four G's to achieve success and balance in life," said Angelo Rossetti, director of tennis at Weston Racquet Club.
During their 2008 Guinness World Records attempt, the twins did not break for water, food or the restroom. By the end of the rally, the ball had no more fuzz, was noticeably smaller and had worn down to its brown rubber surface. The ball has since been on exhibit at the International Tennis Hall of Fame in Newport, Rhode Island.
