Two Foundation HealthCare Portfolio Hospitals Receive Five-Star Rating
OKLAHOMA CITY, April 23, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services awarded two Foundation HealthCare (FDNH) portfolio hospitals, Foundation Surgical Hospital of San Antonio and Heritage Park Surgical Hospital located in Sherman, Texas, their highest possible five-star rating.
With over 3,500 hospitals being rated by CMS only 251 hospitals received the five-star rating.
The rating includes information about the hospitals' performance on publicly reported measures from the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems Survey.
HCAHPS is the first national, standardized and publicly reported survey of patients' perspectives of hospital care.
"Patient care has always been our number one priority at our hospitals. To receive the highest rating at two of our hospitals speaks volumes about the care our clinical and professional teams provide at our hospitals. In addition our physicians who perform procedures at our facilities should be commended for their outstanding care they are giving to their patients," said Stanton Nelson, CEO of Foundation HealthCare.
"The star rating makes it easier for patients to pinpoint excellence in healthcare quality," said Cindy Braly, VP of Clinical Operations for Foundation HealthCare. "Excellence and an outstanding patient experience is what our hospital clinicians and staff strive for daily."
"To be recognized in the top 7% of hospitals nationwide is really a reflection our staff and their dedication to the patient," said Bill Gilbert, CEO of Foundation Surgical Hospital of San Antonio.
Headquartered in Oklahoma City, Okla., Foundation HealthCare owns and operates four surgical hospitals and ten surgery centers in seven states. Foundation's management provides expertise and focuses on the build-out of each hospital by incorporating additional ancillary services in their markets. These additional service lines, such as out-patient surgery, oncology, imaging, physical therapy, hyperbarics, and sleep labs, truly make the Foundation specialty hospital environment unique.
