Two Glade® Fans Light Their Creative Flame to Win National Contest

RACINE, Wis., Feb. 9, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Shauna-Lea Leger of Ohio, and Kelly Gibson Brown of North Carolina, have been named grand prize winners of the Glade® Design and Shine™ Contest. Each will receive $10,000 and their designs will be produced and sold in stores nationwide beginning August 2011. Selected for their expression of personal style, Leger and Brown were chosen amongst more than 100,000 entrants who virtually designed their own Glade® Scented Oil Candle Decorative Glass Holder at www.GladeDesignandShine.com.

The Glade® Design and Shine™ Contest took place during the fall of 2010 and invited Americans to personally design their own glass candle holder at GladeDesignandShine.com by mixing and matching patterns, shapes and colors. The winning creations are designed to be a part of home decor when unlit and create unique designs when lit. One winner was selected to represent each key Glade® scent, Lavender & Vanilla and Clean Linen™.

Brown designed a Decorative Glass Holder for the Glade® Scented Oil Candle signature scent Lavender & Vanilla, citing her inspiration as "the magic of moonlight."

The scent of Clean Linen™ was inspiration for Leger, who hopes that the neutral design of her "Garden of Bliss" candle will "bring about a calming feel for all, young or old."

While Glade® fans voted for their favorite designs online, all designs were reviewed based on originality, stylishness and appropriateness to fragrance, and judged by panelists from SC Johnson and Young America(1). Six additional winners, who will receive $750 each, were also selected as finalists: Martha Roland of Alabama, Christine Ferko of New York, Julie Crider of North Carolina, Kari Kreitzburg of Ohio, Cathleen Hahn of Florida, and Estelle Balunda of Indiana.
