NEW YORK, Oct. 12, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Two women entrepreneurs in the Golden Seeds portfolio were named to the exclusive Forbes list of Top 10 Most Powerful Women Entrepreneurs. Jane Friedman, CEO of Open Road, and Kim Graham-Nye, President of gDiapers, received the accolade last week in a ceremony that included meeting investor Warren Buffett.

"It is an honor to be named to this exclusive list," said Friedman, formerly the CEO of Harper Collins. "The support from Open Road's investors, including Golden Seeds, has been tremendously affirming. I am thrilled to have had the opportunity to create a unique property which I am truly passionate about."

"It was inspirational to meet Mr. Buffett," said Graham-Nye, after being photographed with him. "Golden Seeds has been a strong partner in our journey to change the world by working towards the eradication of plastic diapers."

"We were delighted to receive such validation of our portfolio," said Peggy Wallace, Managing Director, Golden Seeds. "The award resulted from collaboration between four of our CEOs." Crista Bailey, CEO of Textured Hair, encouraged others to enter the competition. Cindy McLaughlin, CEO of Style for Hire, brought in a company stylist to prepare Graham-Nye for the event.
