LANSING, Mich., Jan. 25, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Long known as the "Movers Who Care®," TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® franchise locations across Michigan donated more than 2,500 hours — the equivalent of $254,288 — in charitable moves in 2011. The in-kind effort assisted a number of non-profit organizations and families in need throughout the state.

Across the state TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® locations provided moving services to support a variety of organizations and charitable endeavors, including Toys for Tots, and Michigan Harvest Gathering food drive efforts supporting food banks across the state. Additionally, each franchise hosted the community-based Movers for Moms® program, working with community partners such as schools and churches to collect more than 20,000 essential items for female victims of domestic violence or homelessness on Mother's Day.

In 2011, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® franchise locations across the nation combined to provide more than 194,000 hours of donated services. Last year's donation is equivalent to more than $2 million of billable work.
