U-Haul Offers Free Self-Storage at 28 Locations Ahead of Hurricane Michael

JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Oct. 8, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Four U-Haul Companies across the Carolinas, Florida, Georgia and Alabama are offering 30 days of free self-storage and U-Box container usage at 28 facilities (including 11 in Florida) to residents who stand to be impacted by the heavy rains and extreme winds associated with Hurricane Michael.

The Category 1 storm is expected to make landfall Wednesday. Florida Governor Rick Scott has declared a state of emergency and thousands of residents are preparing their homes for the approaching storm.

"People in flood zones are already taking precautions to protect their homes," U-Haul Company of Tallahassee president Chris Ferguson said. "Storms like these create an immediate need for secure locations where residents can store the belongings they wish to protect.
