U-M Health System recognized as National Top Workplace
ANN ARBOR, Mich., May 30, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The University of Michigan Health System has been recognized among 319 companies as one of the top places to work in the nation
This month, WorkplaceDynamics, Inc. took employee feedback from 805 companies surveyed with 1,000+ employees across 30 regional Top Workplaces programs and selected the national winners. The full list is available at http://www.topworkplaces.com/frontend.php/national/standard.
For the competition, UMHS was evaluated on the basis of its employees' survey responses to 24 different questions on topics included leadership, productivity, communications, career opportunities, working conditions, management, pay and benefits. According to survey results, U-M employees were especially positive about pay and benefits, career opportunities and working conditions.
"The U-M Health System is honored to be recognized for three straight years as a top place to work in Michigan and now for the first time at a national level," says Deborah Childs, chief human resource officer at UMHS. "We highly value our employees and are gratified by this expression of their satisfaction."
In November, employees at the U-M Health System ranked the organization among the best companies to work for in Michigan— earning UMHS a spot among 100 organizations on the Detroit Free Press "Top Workplaces 2011" list.
Responses from statewide winners – half a million employees – were used to select national top workplaces. For comparison, the Fortune 100 Best Companies list was determined based on 280 companies with 1,000+ employees and 246,000 survey responses.
The list is published by WorkplaceDynamics of Exton, PA. WorkplaceDynamics are experts in organizational health and conduct more than 4,000 company surveys each year.
