UBM Electronics' First-of-its-kind Conference and Expo Online Environment Wins Best of Show Award from the IAEE 2012 Art of the Show

SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 17, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- UBM Electronics, the daily source of essential business and technical information for the design engineering and electronics industry's decision makers, today announced its first-of-its-kind conference and expo online environment, DESIGN On Demand, which premiered at DESIGN West in March 2012, has won the "Best in Show" award and "Most Innovative Use of Technology" award from the IAEE 2012 Art of the Show. The Art of the Show competition recognizes excellence in promotional materials for the exhibitions and events industry.

DESIGN West 2012 provided the global electronics industry with extraordinary learning. It was built on the rich foundation of training, education, content and products available at the Embedded Systems Conference (ESC) combined with popular summits and new event launches including Android Summit, Black Hat Summit, DesignMED, Multicore DevCon, EDN's Designing with LEDs and Sensors in Design.

The DESIGN On Demand technology showcased content and videos from 2012 DESIGN West event as well as past events before, during and after the live event. It was created by UBM Studios. Attendees could access and interact with content anytime with ease including liking, disliking and reacting to videos, suggesting content and downloading content to archive. In addition, DESIGN On Demand offered Topic Zones to engage attendees.

DESIGN On Demand offered event attendees "All Access" to event content anytime, anywhere. Paid conference pass holders were given a Viewsonic tablet, configured and pre-loaded with the DESIGN On Demand application when they arrived at the event. All other event attendees were able to access the environment by logging onto their own personal electronic devices, which included tablets, PCs and smartphones.
