NORTHBROOK, Ill., Feb. 25, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- UL (Underwriters Laboratories), a global safety science organization, today announced that its Suzhou lab was officially accredited by the Chinese CNCA (Certification and Accreditation Administration) as a testing laboratory to provide China Compulsory Certification (CCC) testing services for Motors – the only US-based TIC organization to earn this accreditation.
Certain categories of products, intended to be sold in the China market, are subject to the China Compulsory Certification (CCC) program (e.g. electrical and electronic goods, and automobile parts). Historically, only government institutions and state-owned enterprises were able to be accredited to this important Certified Body and Approved Laboratory status.
"With over 30 years of experience in China, an uncompromising credibility in testing and certification and a sound understanding of the Chinese standards and requirements, this approval now positions us to help manufacturers located across the globe in their efforts to enter the Chinese market," said Brian Ferriol, business development director for UL's appliances, HVAC and lighting division.
"In addition to providing CCC testing services and more market-oriented solutions to make sure products are in compliance with Chinese safety requirements, we can also provide clients the latest Chinese testing and certification industry intelligence to help identify business opportunities available to them in China," added Ferriol.
The UL Suzhou lab covers an area of 32,291 square feet and has been accredited by many international testing and certification organizations, including CNAS, CMA, CBTL, IAS, OSHA, ANSI, and SCC among others. With the combination of expert staff and cutting-edge facilities, UL can provide excellent localized services to manufacturers by helping reduce product testing time, improve product compliance, and add competitiveness in the Chinese market.
