Jennifer Borden and Charles Booth join UPRR's executive team to oversee expansion into new markets with Boston presence
NEW YORK, Dec. 8, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Unclaimed Property Recovery and Reporting LLC, (UPRR), a leader in the unclaimed property market since 1996 specializing in shareholder location, asset delivery, compliance, escheatment and risk management, today announced the opening of its newest office to expand their services to the mutual fund and insurance industries. The company also announced two additions to the management team: Jennifer Borden, Executive Vice President and General Counsel, and Charles "Chuck" Booth, Senior Vice President of Sales & Business Development, who will both be based in the Boston office located at 715 Boylston Street.
"UPRR's expanded services and growth necessitated the opening of our Boston location. We have leveraged our decades of expertise in Unclaimed Property into the mutual fund and insurance markets," said Robert Irvine, Co-Founder & President of UPRR. "We are thrilled to welcome two industry veterans to what was already the most experienced Unclaimed Property Team in the market."
Unclaimed Property laws and regulations change constantly, increasing risk for corporations. With UPRR's Pre-Escheat Location Program (PEL), the company offers corporations a turn-key solution to improve investor relations by reuniting owners with their property. In turn, the process reduces the corporation's exposure to liability, interest, and penalties. To date, UPRR has reunited more than 1 million shareholders with billions in assets.
Jennifer Borden brings almost 20 years of Unclaimed Property experience to UPRR. She was most recently a Partner at Holland & Knight, where she was responsible for litigating unclaimed property issues in Massachusetts, Delaware, and Georgia; counseling companies on multi-state escheat compliance; defending state abandoned property audits; and implementing strategic restructurings. Ms. Borden was previously a leader in the Tax Practice for Ernst & Young, providing Unclaimed Funds services to Fortune 1000 companies throughout the country. Ms. Borden also served as General Counsel for the Abandoned Property Fund of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. She is a graduate of the 2008 Class of Boston's Future Leaders, earned her J.D. cum laude at Suffolk University School of Law, and serves on the Committee on Trustees for Boston Latin School.
"With her unparalleled experience in unclaimed property law, Jennifer will serve as an invaluable resource in advising our clients on the complexities of escheat laws nationwide," said Irvine.
Chuck Booth joins UPRR as Senior Vice President of Sales & Business Development. He is responsible for the development and implementation of the company's direct sales, account management and business development efforts. Mr. Booth brings over 12 years' experience in developing, bringing to market and managing financial technology and data solutions. Prior to joining UPRR, he served as the Senior Vice President of Sales for Affiliated Computer Services, a Xerox company, managing their Mutual Fund Solutions Group. Mr. Booth previously developed and implemented all Canadian distribution for Pyxis Mobile within the mutual fund and insurance markets. Once the Canadian business was thriving, he led the practice in New York and New England, the largest, most successful markets for Pyxis. Mr. Booth earned a B.S. in Marketing at Roger Williams University.
"Chuck brings years of strategic sales and business development expertise from technology companies serving the financial sector," said Irvine. "He understands our clients' needs and how to customize solutions that will help them solve their Unclaimed Property needs."
