SCOTT, La., June 13, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The press is invited to attend the grand opening of Uncle T's Oyster Bar at 1001 St. Mary Street in Scott on Friday, June 16th, beginning at 10:30 a.m. The ceremonial ribbon cutting will get things kicked off at 10:30, then, during lunch, there will be a business card drawing for a chance to win a $100 gift certificate.
"We are humbled and thankful to the Scott community for excepting our concept with open arms. Having the support from Acadiana and the surrounding areas is truly rewarding and we want nothing more than to continually reap the benefits of the smiling faces and uplifting comments. We worked diligently for 17 months to ensure this project was something special for our small community, simply because we wanted to keep the years of history and fantastic memories of this building's roots alive. My family thanks you for your patronage thus far, and we look forward to serving you and yours for many years to come. Cheers!" - Uncle T. With oysters prepared several different ways, boiled seafood, specialty poboys like alligator, and more, Uncle T's Oyster Bar will soon become a favorite of seafood lovers and those looking to get a taste of authentic Cajun food.
When renovations began in January of 2016, owners Anthony and Lexi Hebert wanted to turn the old Cue Time Bar building into something special. Original masonry from the 1950s and reclaimed wood from a nearby 100-year-old barn has been showcased to give this updated restaurant a classic and rustic look and feel, and even helps divide the family restaurant from the bar area. An additional 1,800 square feet were also added to the already existing 2,500 square feet. Now, this family owned and operated restaurant/bar has a seating capacity of over a hundred with outside seating available for those beautiful Louisiana days and nights.
Uncle T's Oyster Bar is currently open from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and closed on Sundays; however, we have a feeling that will change once football season starts. Check out the website at www.uncletsoysterbar.com and join us for the grand opening this Friday.
