UNICO National Declares Campagna Pasta Imported From Italy by Fancy Foods, Inc. as 'Official Pasta of UNICO'

FAIRFIELD, N.J., Dec. 22, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- At a recent national meeting, UNICO National, the largest Italian American service organization in America, declared that pasta products from Campagna Brand in Italy, exclusively imported by Fancy Foods, Inc., NY, are now the "Official Pasta of UNICO National." This was the result of a year-long effort by UNICO to forge a relationship with an Italian company producing products worthy of being officially named the "Official Pasta of UNICO." Chris DiMattio, UNICO National President, stated, "I am so pleased that we have this new relationship with Campagna and Fancy Foods and we now have an Official Pasta of UNICO for our members, families and friends to enjoy."

UNICO National has been at the forefront of celebrating, promoting and defending the heritage and culture of Italian Americans since its founding in 1922. As an extension of that legacy it was decided that an effort would be made to associate UNICO with quality products from Italy. In concert with Italian Americans' affinity to all things pasta, it was natural that this would be the first area selected. John Borgese, UNICO Business Manager, was instrumental in selecting Campagna/Fancy Foods for this honor.

At the UNICO meeting, Robert Dee, Fancy Foods/Campagna VP of Imports, expressed his gratitude to UNICO: "This is just great! UNICO is a terrific organization that does such great things in the local community and across the country. We are humbled that they chose our products for this great honor and we are so pleased to be associated with UNICO." In explaining his products to the UNICO members in attendance, he continued, "Campagna Pasta is made from the finest Italian durum wheat semolina, mixed with clear water from the Italian hills, to produce a light golden-amber product. UNICO National's 140 local chapters across the US hold numerous fundraising events supporting scholarships, cancer and Cooley's Anemia research and mental health programs. Pasta dinners are run by many chapters to help raise funds. Campagna pasta will now be featured at many of these events across the country.
