Unifive and CCID Blockchain Research Institute Unveil China Blockchain Ecosystem Alliance

QINGDAO, China, Nov. 14, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- On November 8, the 2017 China Blockchain Summit and China Blockchain Ecosystem Alliance founding conference, co-sponsored by the World Internet Industry Conference Organizing Committee, CCID (Qingdao) Blockchain Research Institute, Laoshan District, Qingdao City Government and China Electronics and Information Industry Development Institute, was successfully held in Qingdao, China.

At the conference, Laoshan District People's Government of Qingdao and China Electronics and Information Industry Development Research Institute together announced the establishment of China Blockchain Ecosystem Alliance (CBEA). CBEA is a non-profit social organization jointly sponsored by China Electronics and Information Industry Development Research Institute, as well as universities, research institutes, and other blockchain related enterprises. It is the first non-profit blockchain technology related organization in China to obtain recognition by an industry administrative authority. Meanwhile, the first council meeting of CBEA was held successfully as well.  Jian-Hua Zheng, a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, was elected as chairman of the council. CBEA members include China Software Testing Center, China Software Industry Association, China Security Industry Association, China Electronic Certification Service Industry Alliance, Unifive, Beijing Tiande Science and Technology Co., Ltd., China Minsheng Bank, Beijing Qihoo Technology Co., Ltd., Beijing Shared-Bit Technology Co., Ltd., Wanda Network Technology Group, and more than 100 additional organizations.  The member entities were represented by executives from blockchain related enterprises, top experts in the blockchain field, and various well-established professionals in related fields. In the near future, CBEA will take charge to formulate standards for the development of China's blockchain industry, promote technological innovation and encourage early adoption of the technology in the real business world. CBEA will also sponsor the formation of a vertical media system within the blockchain industry to facilitate information exchange among professional organizations on a global scale.

The establishment of CBEA is of great significance.  Under the guidance of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, CBEA will uphold the principle of "openness, innovation, cooperation and synergy" to establish the Chinese blockchain development and application ecosystem.  The coalition of government, businesses, universities and research institutions can take full advantage of the fast growth of blockchain technology and allow members of CBEA to exchange ideas and share resources through a common platform.  It will in turn speed up the adoption of blockchain technology by various industries.

Dr. Quan Liu, vice chairman and secretary general of the CBEA, read the constitution of the organization, presented accomplishments since the inception, introduced a list of member organizations that make up the alliance council, and announced the formation of an expert committee. Dr. Liu also presented future directions and working ideas for the alliance and highlighted the work that has been done so far.  Dr. Liu then gave a systematic analysis on the state of Chinese blockchain industry:  from the positioning of various enterprises to application fields to financing and investments in blockchain projects in China.  Dr. Liu summed up his presentation with "The Annual Report of the Blockchain Industry (2017):  Preparation, Exploration, and Execution of a Modern Blockchain System, A Collection of Use Cases". He pointed out that policy research, industry assessment, standard-setting, technical services, application promotion, personnel training, financial investment and media communication are critical tasks for the alliance.

Professor Ning-Zhong Ren, director of Entrepreneurship and Venture Capital Research Center at Fudan University, gave an in-depth lecture titled, "Innovative Application of Blockchain-Driven Business Model."  He analyzed the current state of blockchain technology in banking, insurance, gig-economy, and supply chain management with practical use cases of Airbnb, a US Smart Grid, and AXA insurance to illustrate future application potentials of the fast-growing technology.
