#unifyUSA Launches Hit Refresh: Citizens' Movement to Reconstruct the U.S. Constitution

Will Build Toward National Citizens' Assembly

WASHINGTON, Feb. 17, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, President's Day, #unifyUSA launched Hit Refresh, a campaign dedicated to reimagining the U.S. Constitution through Citizens' Assemblies.  A Citizens' Assembly is a group of regular people, randomly selected in a lottery, who come together to learn about issues, talk them through, and propose solutions that work for everyone.

The American people deserve a refreshed Constitution that builds on our shared values and serves and protects them in the 21st century. Regardless of your political beliefs, it's clear that the nation's founding document must evolve to meet the needs of today's society.

Our founding fathers envisioned a democracy for the people and of the people, but political power has once again consolidated in the hands of the wealthy, leaving regular people with a vote in name only. From outdated mechanisms like the Electoral College to the growing influence of money in politics, everyday Americans struggle to have their voices heard.
