Unilife Chairman and CEO Alan Shortall Wins EY Entrepreneur of the Year Award in Greater Philadelphia

YORK, Pa., June 15, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Unilife Corporation (NASDAQ: UNIS and ASX: UNS), a developer, manufacturer and supplier of injectable drug delivery systems, announced that its Chairman and CEO, Mr. Alan Shortall, has been named the Ernst and Young ("EY") Entrepreneur Of The Year 2015 in Greater Philadelphia for Manufacturing and Transport.

The national and regional awards program, now in its 29^th year, recognizes entrepreneurs who demonstrate excellence and extraordinary success with their vision, leadership and personal commitment to their businesses and communities. Mr. Shortall is now eligible for the EY Entrepreneur of the Year Overall National Award winner for within the same category, as well as the World Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 2016.

Mr. Shortall founded Unilife in Australia in 2002, before leading its redomiciliation into a U.S.-based Company in 2009, shifting production from China to Pennsylvania and listing on NASDAQ in 2010. Since then, Unilife has rapidly expanded in size from approximately 40 to 280 staff, established a state-of-the art manufacturing facility in York, PA, an Innovation Center in King of Prussia, and signed long-term agreements with a multitude of pharmaceutical companies.
