Unimin Receives Halliburton Supplier Excellence Award

NEW CANAAN, Conn., Jan. 8, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Unimin Corporation announced today it is the proud recipient of the prestigious "Golden Hard Hat" supplier award for Service, Quality and Operational Excellence from Halliburton. Halliburton is Unimin's largest customer and a major consumer of its hydraulic fracturing sands and resin-coated proppants. The two companies have enjoyed a 35-year business relationship in service to the energy industry.

Present at the December ceremony at Unimin's corporate office for Unimin were Kevin Crawford, Executive Chairman of Sibelco, Unimin's global parent company; Luke Anderson, CEO; and Dave Frattaroli Sr. Vice President of Marketing and Sales and for Halliburton, Brian Bidigare, Vice President, Procurement and Materials; Mike Hillman, Director, Category Management; and Shannon Lewis, Category Manager.

The Golden Hard Hat was presented to Kevin Crawford by Brian Bidigare.  Mr. Bidigare praised all Unimin employees who team with Halliburton. "Hands down you are a premier supplier for Halliburton," said Mr. Bidigare.  He explained that this is one of only eight awards given this year in a network of 35,000 active Halliburton global suppliers.
