Unisys Cited in Independent Research Report for Ability to Ease the Move into Google Apps
Research firm cites Unisys' established capability in change management, cloud brokerage and cloud business strategy
BLUE BELL, Pa., Jan. 21, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Unisys Corporation (NYSE: UIS) today announced that global research and advisory firm Forrester Research, Inc., has cited the company as an implementation partner for Google Apps, with a "robust training and communication program to facilitate change management."
The recognition follows a number of major recent projects where Unisys has successfully implemented Google Apps for U.S. government agencies.
The January 2014 Forrester Research, Inc. report, "Market Overview: Google Apps Implementation Partner Ecosystem," noted Unisys' "established capability" in the areas of change management, cloud brokerage and cloud business strategy.
"Unisys' integration skills allow it to tie a number of systems into Google Apps," the report said. "It also brings to bear a robust training and communication program to facilitate change management."
The Forrester report cited Unisys' ability to integrate legacy environments into Google Apps as a way to "make them palatable to CIOs," as well as the company's "robust change management program to ease the move into [Google] Apps." It further noted that Unisys differentiates itself "on complex integrations such as creating a unified messaging solution in Apps."
Unisys has helped four federal government agencies successfully move employees to the cloud-based Google Apps for Government email and collaboration solution, providing new tools to help employees work collaboratively while cutting costs by moving apps and data to the cloud.
These include implementations at the National Archives and Records Administration, the U.S. Department of Energy Idaho National Laboratory, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and the U.S. General Services Administration – the first federal government agency to migrate all of its employees to a cloud-based email environment. Last month, Unisys announced a new contract to transition 6,000 additional Department of Energy program personnel to Google Apps for Government.
"Our work with our clients shows that government agencies can make a safe, secure and seamless journey to the cloud," said Steve Kousen, vice president of cloud email and collaboration services, Unisys. "We look forward to working with other agencies to help them realize the many benefits of Google Apps for Government."
