LOS ANGELES, Dec. 8, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- unite4:good (www.u4g.com), the global movement and digital platform for kindness and social good, today announces their Global Youth Ambassadors Kenny Holland and Sammy Wilk join the DigiTour SlayBells:Fire tour on the Giving4:Good Bus by unite4:good. The tour and social good initiative, which brings leading social media influencers to meet with their fans in cities across the nation, features leading social media influencers and tour headliners Kenny Holland (@iamKennyHolland) and Sammy Wilk (@SammyWilk), who will be taking the bus to area shelters where they will donate essential items raised by fans using the unite4:good platform. While at the shelters, Holland and Wilk will additionally work with local retailers and restaurants to bring holiday cheer to residents by offering supplies, granting wishes and bringing food, gift cards and clothing to those in need.
"We are so honored to work with both Kenny and Sammy because they have demonstrated a real commitment to making a positive difference in the communities they will be visiting, and they know how important it is for youth to step up and take a stand for what they believe in and to early on identify what they want to change about their world," said Anthony Melikhov, Founder of unite4:good. "They brought this idea to life – that they would both create awareness and rally their fans towards social good this holiday season, and we commend them for having a vision that is going to change these holidays for some very special individuals and families."
While the DigiTour SlayBells:Fire Tour will make stops in Houston, New Orleans, Memphis, Oklahoma City, St. Louis, Indianapolis, Grand Rapids, Cleveland, Knoxville, Charleston, Jacksonville and Tampa between December 8th and 20th, 2015, the Giving4:Good Tour bus is expected to both participate in DigiTour SlayBells:Fire, and will also arrive at shelters in the following cities:
- December 8th, Memphis, TN
- December 10th, St. Louis, MO
- December 12th, Indianapolis, IN
- December 14th, Cleveland, OH
- December 20th, Tampa, FL
In each city, Holland and Wilk will arrive at the shelter with new daily essentials and gifts for all residents, brighten the holidays by creating a festive event with food and entertainment, share in caroling and games with those in attendance and also be granting some wishes-come-true for a few families – inclusive of toys, experiences, gift cards and more.
"The chance to make a real difference in these cities during the tour is one of the most incredible opportunities I've ever been a part of," said Wilk, who has more than two million avid followers on Instagram and Twitter combined. "Just knowing what we are about to do over the next two weeks has changed this whole experience for me. To get to know the families we will be helping and to see how powerful it is when acts of kindness come together is a humbling, amazing experience and I'm thrilled to do this with our fans."
At the DigiTour SlayBells:Fire event in each city, fans will have a chance to win the opportunity to join Holland and Wilk at the final stop in Tampa by creating u4g.com profiles as well as taking and sharing photos that tell the world what they stand 4 at the unite4:good DigiTour booth.
"Sammy Wilk has come into his own this winter - his performances are incredibly engaging and leave every fan wanting more. Expect big things from him in 2016," said Chris Rojas, COO and Founder of DigiTour. "Kenny Holland is one of the most creative musicians we've ever seen - his melodic abilities and masterful showmanship speak to a deep dedication and respect for his craft. We're proud to be working with the both of them on this tour."
Additionally, for each kindness profile that is created by fans on u4g.com between December 8th and 20th, U4G will donate one essential item to a shelter. Already, ahead of launch, hundreds of their fans have created social good profiles and helped to build the sheer number of products being donated to the shelters. To join the campaign, fans should visit u4g.com and create a profile. Over the coming weeks and months, unite4:good along with Holland and Wilk will announce additional digital ways for fans to create a positive social impact. The fans earn U4G kindness points for every kind act, and can then redeem their points for rewards and one-of-a-kind experiences on the unite4:good platform.
"This is exciting for us – to be able to work with our fans to create awareness about the plight of those in need, and to have our fans quickly helping us build our inventory of what we can donate is especially important right now as people are thinking about the giving season," said Holland, who has nearly three million followers between Twitter and Vine. "We're asking our fans to create a profile on u4g.com, and then stay tuned as we start to make a positive difference in the lives of others through this new social network for good. It's a huge honor to be a part of something so important."
