United Federal Credit Union Wins Cornerstone Chamber Award
ST. JOSEPH, Mich., Feb. 16, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- The Cornerstone Chamber of Commerce announces United Federal Credit Union (UFCU) as a Platinum Stake Award Winner in its annual Salute to Business awards. UFCU invested over $2.8 million to completely rebuild and re-launch its information technology core and electronic delivery systems. The credit union's main core processing systems were at the end of their useful life, and its Nevada branches remained on a separate system.
The upgrades unified the credit union on one modern core processing system and delivered new and enhanced online banking, voice banking, and mobile banking services.
Gary L. Easterling, UFCU President/CEO, said, "Our investment in new and upgraded systems demonstrates our commitment to better serving our Members. These systems will enable us to deliver the right products in an efficient way for years to come."
The upgrade project included capital investment of $300,000 or more in the period 2009-2011. The upgrade project involved two years of planning and was implemented over two 48-hour marathon work sessions.
United Federal Credit Union has served its Members since 1949 by helping them to build a sound financial future. UFCU consists of more than 108,000 Member/owners worldwide, and manages assets in excess of $1.3 billion. Its corporate offices and main branch are located in St. Joseph, Michigan, with additional branches in Arkansas, Indiana, Michigan, North Carolina, Nevada and Ohio.
