United Technologies Named Chair of the World Green Building Council Advisory Board

FARMINGTON, Conn., April 11, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- John Mandyck, chief sustainability officer, UTC Climate, Controls & Security, a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX), was named chair of the World Green Building Council Advisory Board, further expanding the organization's commitment to the green building movement around the globe.

The largest international organization influencing the green building marketplace, the World Green Building Council is a coalition of 90 national green building councils that works to facilitate the global transformation of the building industry through market-driven mechanisms. Leading the Corporate Advisory Board, Mandyck will serve as a global champion for the green building movement, providing insight on market trends and partnering with the organization's Board of Directors to set an ambitious agenda to maximize the value of the global network of green building councils.

In addition to his new role with the World Green Building Council, Mandyck serves as co-vice chairman of the Board of Directors for Urban Green Council, the U.S. Green Building Council's New York City Chapter, serves on the Center for Green Schools Advisory Board, and is an official advisor to China's Green Building Council.
