Universal Map Group, LLC Announces Agreement to Acquire the Assets of Mapsco, Inc.

FORT WASHINGTON, Pa. and DALLAS, March 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Universal Map Group, LLC, ("Universal") an affiliate of Kappa Media Group, Inc. ("Kappa"), announced today it has reached an agreement to acquire the assets of Mapsco, Inc. ("Mapsco"), a Dallas, Texas-based publisher of regional and local maps sold principally in Texas, Oklahoma, Colorado, New Mexico, and Louisiana. Closing of the transaction is scheduled for March 31, 2010. Universal plans to retain the Mapsco name, several Mapsco retail stores and expand on its presence both within and outside of Texas by marketing under the Mapsco, Universal and Kappa brand names.
