SANTA MONICA, Calif., Feb. 3, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Universal Music Group, the world leader in music-based entertainment, and its family of artists, labels and distributed partners were widely recognized at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards, with Kendrick Lamar (Interscope/UMPG) the biggest winner of the night, picking up five awards including Record of the Year, Song of The Year, Best Rap Song, Best Rap Performance and Best Music Video for "Not Like Us."

In other major categories, Chappell Roan (Island Records) was named Best New Artist, while Doechii (TDE/Capitol Records) won Best Rap Album for Alligator Bites Never Heal. Sabrina Carpenter (Island Records/UMPG) won Best Pop Vocal Album for Short N' Sweet and Best Pop Solo Performance for "Espresso." Lady Gaga (Interscope) was awarded Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for "Die With A Smile," with Bruno Mars. 

Universal Music Publishing Group songwriters were represented across all major categories with Record of the Year, Song Of The Year and Best Rap Song for Kendrick Lamar's "Not Like Us." Album of the Year (Raphael Saadiq), Best R&B Song (SZA), Best Rap Album (Doechii), Best Pop Vocal Album (Sabrina Carpenter) and Best Pop Duo Performance (Ariana Grande) among others. In the film/TV and theater categories, Alicia Keys' hugely acclaimed Broadway show Hell's Kitchen won Best Musical Theater Album while Maestro: Music by Leonard Bernstein, whose songwriting catalog is represented by UMPG won Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media.

In the Rock and Alternative categories. The Beatles (Capitol Records/UMe) won their eighth Grammy, picking up Best Rock Performance for "Now And Then," their historic final release. The Rolling Stones (Interscope/Polydor) won Best Rock Album for Hackney Diamonds and St Vincent (Total Pleasure/VMG) won Best Alternative Music Album for All Born Screaming, Best Alternative Music Performance for "Flea" and Best Rock Song for "Broken Man."

Samara Joy (Verve Label Group) picked up Best Jazz Vocal Album for A Joyful Holiday and Best Jazz Performance for "Twinkle Twinkle Little Me", Tank And The Bangas (Verve Label Group) won Best Spoken Word Poetry Album for The Heart, The Mind, The Soul. Meshell Ndegeocello (Blue Note) won Best Alternative Jazz Album for No More Water: The Gospel of James Baldwin, Norah Jones (Blue Note) won Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album for Visions, and Muni Long (Def Jam Recordings) won Best R&B Performance for "Made For Me (Live on BET)."

In the Country, Bluegrass and Americana categories, Chris Stapleton (Mercury Nashville) won Best Country Solo Performance for "It Takes A Woman," and in the songwriting categories, Kacey Musgraves (MCA Nashville/Interscope) picked up Best Country Song for "The Architect." In her first set of nominations, Sierra Ferrell (Concord/Rounder Records) took home four Grammys, picking up wins for Best Americana Album for Trail of Flowers, Best Americana Performance and Best American Roots Song for "American Dreaming," and Best American Roots Performance for "Lighthouse."

Jon Batiste's American Symphony documentary (Mercury Studios) won Best Music Film, while "It Never Went Away" (Verve Label Group/Interscope) from the soundtrack won Best Song For Visual Media and Hell's Kitchen (Interscope/VMG) won Best Musical Theater Album.

In other categories, "Neverender" by Justice & Tame Impala (Because/VMG) was named Best Dance/ Electronic Recording. Carín León (Island/VMG) won Best Música Mexicana Album for BOCA CHUECA, VOL. 1., and Best Melodic Rap Performance went to Rapsody featuring Erykah Badu (Roc Nation) for "3:AM."

In the Gospel category, the Best Roots Gospel Album went to Cory Henry (VMG) for Church and Best Gospel Performance/Song category went to "One Hallelujah" by Tasha Cobbs Leonard, Erica Campbell & Israel Houghton featuring Jonathan McReynolds & Jekalyn Carr (CCMG). Best Contemporary Blues Album went to Ruthie Foster (VMG) for Mileage and Best Reggae Album went to Bob Marley: One Love – Music Inspired by The Film (UMe/Island Records).

In the classical field, Best Classical Instrumental Solo went to Víkingur Ólafsson (Deutsche Grammophon) for Bach: Goldberg Variations. Maestro: Music by Leonard Bernstein (Verve/Deutsche Grammophon) from London Symphony Orchestra, Yannick Nézet-Séguin and Bradley Cooper was named Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media, and Best Opera Recording went to Saariaho: Adriana Mater (Deutsche Grammophon) from San Francisco Symphony; San Francisco Symphony Chorus and Timo Kurkikangas. Jacob Collier (Interscope/Decca/Hajanga) won Best Arrangement, Instrumental or A Cappella for "Bridge Over Troubled Water" featuring John Legend & Tori Kelly. 

Last Sundays In Plains: A Centennial Celebration (VMG) by Jimmy Carter won Best Audio Book, Narration, and Storytelling Recording. Simon Hilton & Sean Lennon Ono won Best Boxed or Limited-Edition Package for their work on John Lennon Mind Games (UMe).

In addition, UMPG Chairman & CEO Jody Gerson received the Recording Academy's 2025 Industry Icon Award, recognizing her transformative leadership and impact on the music industry, while UMPG Songwriter Alicia Keys became the third honoree to receive the Dr. Dre Global Impact Award.
