When Transit Systems Security Officer Delgado and his Code Compliance partner Patricia Alamillo were on patrol at the Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) in San Diego, they came across a pregnant woman who was in labor and in need of medical assistance. They immediately called central control and requested paramedics respond to their location. However, when it soon became evident that the woman would not be able to wait for emergency services to arrive, Delgado and Alamillo used their emergency training skills to help her deliver the baby and assist her and the newborn until paramedics arrived.

"They saw what was happening, jumped right in and handled the situation extraordinarily well," said Chief of MTS Police Bill Burke. "I'm very proud!"

"Mr. Delgado and his actions are exemplary and representative of the rest of our exceptional Universal team who are dedicated to our service and partnership with MTS," said Ken Moller, Regional Vice President of San Diego.

Delgado received a letter of commendation from his superiors at MTS, and he will also receive an award and further recognition from Universal Protection Service. Universal is proud to call MTS Security Officer Juan Delgado one of their own and congratulates him on a commendable job well done.
