Universal Protection Service Supports Connections Housing at the Grand Opening of San Diego's New Homeless Center

SANTA ANA, Calif., March 27, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Universal Protection Service, a division of Universal Services of America and one of the largest providers of security services in the U.S., joined Connections Housing last week as they celebrated the opening of their new homeless center in downtown San Diego.

The Universal team joined over 700 people, including numerous elected officials from various agencies, in the celebration of the $38 million permanent housing project.

Located in the building that once held San Diego's World Trade Center, the new facility houses 73 individuals, provides interim housing for an additional 150 people, contains a health center and connects homeless individuals with services designed to aid them in moving off the streets and into permanent homes. Universal Protection Service is proud to support the new center with their ceremony donation and security services.

The Connection Housing center is the result of a partnership between four of Southern California's housing and service agencies: Affirmed Housing Group, PATH (People Assisting the Homeless), PATH Venture and Family Health Centers of San Diego.
